Quest 12 Youtube
I chose Mary J. Blige's video. She is one of my favorite singer and with this video there is a plus because Terrence Howard is in it. My daughters have sent me youtube videos in the past. I have seen them on TV. One that ran recently was about the bride and her hair cut. Later, it was found to be untrue. This has been a wonderful experience because I have always been the reciever not the giver. So here is my youtube video.

Podcast
Podcast.net was very interesting to view. I did a keyword search on Library News and found a couple of things I was interested in viewing. King County Library posted a site on Library News Episode 3 A Look at Landlord Tenant Law. Listening to it almost put me to sleep, but for someone looking for information on Landlord/Tenant Law it was very helpful. I could not get an audio on The Library Channel: Don't Panic: Information Resources for When Your Deadline Looms! I would have love to hear anything that was said about resources available when your deadlines looms. I also checked out Book Review. The New York Times Book post updates of book review. This is a great source for patrons interested in hearing more about a book. The editor interviewed Rex Reed on Bette Davis. Another author, Dan Barry was also interviewed. This update was dated November 3, 2007. This was done on Podcastalley.com. This is a must "keep" for me.

Quest 11- Online Apps
Wow! This was the first word that came to mind as I explored Zoho Writer. It is a great site especially for students. In the past, we have had problems with students using their school computer and wanted to open a file at the library. The two computers were not compatible, therefore a student would have to start over fresh or wait until they return to school. I chose to use word to type a blog about the fire in Santa Ana. The print was perfect. Zoho has everything that Word have including smiling faces. I also made a spreadsheet and included a graph. This is a must kept site for my future use.

Quest 9
I have used Wiikipedia, the online encyclopedia in the past. I did not realized the vast amount of information available through Wiki. I was amazed to learn that others can contribute to Wiki. I checked out St. Joseph County Library's site. One of the great things I discover was their scholarships guide. The scholarships were listed in alphabetical order that included a contact name, telephone number and some has a web site. This is a wonderful site for students. SJCPL has a voting page with local and federal politicians, voting dates and where to vote. This would be a plus for CCPL. Another site that I visited was Library Success: A Best Practices Wiki. This is a great site for librarians to use for ideas and programs. I will explore Wiki in the future and try my hand at editing or adding to the wiki.

Quest 8
I created a myspace page. Imagine me chatting on myspace! I took a class Mastering Myspace at TLC which was very helpful. My young adults have a myspace page so it was easy for me to decide which social newtworking was for me. Of course, I made them my friends. Even though, Tom was my very first friend. Thanks Tom. He is a true friend. I was able to post my pictures. Some of them I made private and just for my friends to see. I have enjoyed creating a myspace page and checking out what is on my friends page. I can find sites from someone's page and post it to my page if I like it. I never imagine that I would create a myspace page, but it was really a fun thing to do.
Quest 7
A long time ago I thought the only way to share my photos were to mail them to my friends and family. Today there are many ways I can do it and its so much easier and faster to do. One of my computer classes talked about Flickr. Flickr is a wonderful way to store your favorite photos. I chose three of my photos to share. First, a dozen beautiful birthday roses. All of my siblings were gathered together for Christmas 2006. This celebration was a first for us on Christmas in 2o years. I decided to personalized an ornament for each family household. This was the high light on Christmas Day. The third picture was the start of a Jack O'Lantern. Sorry, I did not include the end result. I was able to make a slide of my pictures. Amazing! I will keep using Flickr in the future to store my photos. To see my photo gallery go to http://www.flickr.com/photos/13780891@N08/.

Quest 6
Del.icio.us was a wonderful challenge for me. I am learning new things. Getting started tagging my first search was very interesting to say the least. It was amazining to see how many people sought out the same sites as I did. I found some great sites that interest me so I will use del.icio.us again. My del.icio.us is http://del.icio.us/freshstart22
Technorati is a great site if someone wants to see how others feel about a subject through blogging. I completed this exercise by tagging my post and adding "TechTrek2.0" to the bottom of it. I will not visit this site too often because I am not interest in reading someone's blog unless it will help me to understand a subject. Searching keyword resulted in 27,720 hits; tag search found three: sociability, web based file and conversion, along with videos. Blog Directory found 442 blogs about Lirary 2.0.

I'm a IMer
I have seen people using IM in the past including my children. So naturally, I solicit my daughter to be my first "Friend". It was much easier than I initially thought it would be to set up and begin IM. I got creative and sent my friends talking cartoons and became addicted. I am enjoying it and will continue to IM in the future.

Life Long Learner
It has been said that we should learn something new everyday. Having said that, I must admit that taking advantage of new technology is very hard for me. The greatest joy in life was having kids, now grandchildren that would program my DVD and Video Player. Purchasing a new cell phone was only a telephone call away to my nearest child. My grandchild will preset my favorite television shows for me. Yes, using technology to my advantage is the hardest of the 7 & 1/2 Habits. The easiest habits would be to teach and mentor others. I love helping others, giving advice and teaching things that I know. I am now ready to become a "real" life long learner.

Getting Started!
Hi New Beginners like me, I am excited and a little nervous about getting started on this new adventure. This will be my first "blog experience". I will survive!! My grown children will not believe this so I will wait until I become a pro-blogger before I inform them. Well, I am ready, so here I go.
